Location: Must live within one of the following counties: Big Stone, Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine, Swift, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Mcleod or Renville

About Us: The Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging (MNRAAA) provides advocacy, information, resources and assistance so that older adults can maintain the lifestyle of their choice. The Senior LinkAge Line is a free statewide service of the Minnesota Board on Aging, in partnership with Minnesota's Area Agencies on Aging. Senior LinkAge Line helps older Minnesotans and their families by connecting to local services, finding answers, and getting the help they need.

Job Summary: MNRAAA is seeking a full-time Senior LinkAge Line Resource Specialist. This role provides free, objective information and assistance to help older Minnesotans and their families to make informed decisions about their options, provide general resources and options counseling through taking inbound calls from the general and housing queues. This role also provides outreach by connecting with regional organizations, partners, and individuals to build relationships and educate them about the Senior LinkAge Line. Requires a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and a reliable car.

Salary and Benefits: Salary range: $21.28-$25.29 per hour, depending on years or relevant experience. Comprehensive health, dental, life insurance, Accidental Death & Disability, and short-term disability insurance (subject to different benefit plans). 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match. Paid vacation, sickness, and holiday time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, clear, and objective information and assistance to older adults and their family members over the phone.
  • Help older Minnesotans and their families make informed decisions about their options, Medicare, and health care benefits.
  • Conduct education and outreach to individuals, caregivers, family members, and providers in the surrounding communities.
  • Must complete the required Medicare Training to handle inbound Medicare calls independently within 6 months of hire. Training includes Medicare 101, 201, 301, & 302 (40 hours), and job shadowing (40 hours).
Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services-related field, such as social work, nursing, public administration, or gerontology and one year of professional or internship experience working with older adults OR Two-year certificate or degree in a human services-related field or a community health certificate with three years of professional experience working with older adults OR Five years of relevant professional experience in care coordination and case management at a nursing facility, assisted living, hospital, home care or lead agency.
