Public Safety Officer Hendrix College is seeking a full-time, 12-month support staff position. Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, the Public Safety Officer ensures the safety of persons and property on the Hendrix campus and helps manage various emergency situations. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent or respond to conduct that is a violation of law and/or College expectations to include incidents of theft, vandalism, fire or fire hazards, disorderly conduct, parking violations, etc. Ensure buildings are locked and unlocked as appropriate. Inspect life safety equipment, which includes checking locks, lighting, fire extinguishers and alarms to confirm they are in working order. Report any public safety incidents and unusual or hazardous conditions on campus to appropriate officials (i.e., inoperative alarms, discharged or defective fire extinguishers, broken windows, etc.).
